A short horror-themed indie game, made as part of the 2 week Senscape’s Cursed Adventurous Jam 2022.
Won 3rd place within the contest.
The game covers the story of a strange ritual that took place, and your efforts to uncover the mysteries around a missing person and potential others involved. As you isolate yourself within the interrogation room, it is up to you to scan evidence and dissect the responses of your suspect.

In cooperation with this team, I focused on designing all the visual aspects of the game. Enthusiastically I started off with the main focus: the suspect. We knew that she initially takes on the form of a normal adult woman, which would be followed by a subtle betrayal of a darker influence that has taken hold of her.
I started to play with a couple of sketches to get an idea of the most fitting expression.
We went with the former stern expression, with grungy dusty shadows, much like seen in old photography. As I experimented around with that, the amount of shadows and size of the pupils also needed fine-tuning. Though we chose to go with the small pupils, I think I find the bottom left result the creepiest; the larger sharp eyes are just that bit too big for comfort and without any light, seemingly intruding into your soul.
But that most certainly was not all. As the interrogation goes on, more and more of the dark influences creep into the room, and the suspect will shed her skin. Gradually we needed more monstrous appearances. From her human to stern expression, she needed to dive into a shadowy form, out of which would come a demonic face, decorated with viscious rows of teeth, gums exposed, arachnid protrusions and spread-open eyes.
But an even larger evil is after this demon, and will break through the fabric of reality to find her, once the interrogation is over.
Depending on the player’s performance, a certain amount of results would be achieved within the interrogation. This would then determine how the game would end, either with no progress being made, the evil influences wreaking havoc, or the case being solved.
Other materials made were a couple of portraits, a mangled corpse and a cassette-player used to replay the suspect’s responses if the player so wished to listen again.
The large Youtube Let’s Player ManlyBadassHero was one of the first to upload his complete playthrough of the game, attracting 700.000+ views and much interest for the style of gameplay, art, acting and writing.
